The City
The City is Brisbane’s geographical heart - home
to shops, cinemas, restaurants, bars, clubs and many
CBD offices. The City caters to a fairly broad crowd
and has a good share of backpacker venues. |

The Valley & New Farm
1 kilometer north of the City is the Valley and neighbouring
New Farm are an interesting mix of old and new. The
area has seen lots of urban renewal, turning it into
an arts hub. Chinatown is here, as are many clothing
boutiques, nightclubs, dance clubs and places to
eat. |

West End
Across the river from the City, West End is a bohemian
area with a village feel. Most of the action takes
place around Boundary Street, which is flanked by
quirky cafes, restaurants, pool halls, cocktail bars
and interesting old pubs. |

City Fringe
Brisbane’s bayside accommodation is situated
at Manly, where you’ll find the largest marina
on Australia’s east coast. Only 25 minutes by
train from the City, Manly is the gateway to Moreton
Bay and Islands. Backpacker accommodation is available
at Manly and on North Stradbroke and Moreton Islands. |
